I’m sure everyone is incredibly busy right now with the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, but I’d like to ask each of you to participate in what I promise is a fun project. Right now we have this fantastic exhibition called Currents: Peter Zimmermann up in Gallery One. Zimmermann (insert link has created an immense, luminous, abstract painting that transforms an entire gallery floor into a work of art. But here is the really fun part of the exhibition, you don’t just skirt around the corners of the galleries and look at it, you walk on the piece, or you sit on the piece, or, I suppose you can crawl on the piece. We even had some preschoolers who decided it would be fun to “swim” on the piece. Now, here is the homework part. I would love to see pictures of our visitors interacting with this unique artwork (yes, I asked the artist’s permission). So, not only am I giving you permission to touch this particular artwork, I’m encouraging you to take a picture of yourself while you’re doing it. Send the pictures to media@cmaohio.org, and we’ll post some of them here on the blog.
