I am deeply saddened by yesterday’s horrific events at the Holocaust Museum in Washington D.C. My heart goes out to the Museum staff and the family of Stephen T. Johns, the guard who was killed as a result of the shooting. This is particularly difficult for me as I believe museums are meant to be places that allow us to come together and better understand one another, sharing our cultures and beliefs to help us bridge our differences. My thoughts will be with everyone impacted by this tragedy.
