Celebrate your birthday at CMA

A Columbus Museum of Art birthday party offers a hands-on experience with art! With a choice of engaging themes for kids ages 6-11, each party includes admission to CMA, age-appropriate gallery experiences, use of thematic costumes and decorations, an art-making activity, invitations, and more! 1st Saturdays

Recommended for families with children ages 3-8

Takes place the first Saturday of every month from September-May

This spirited drop-in program allows adults and children to have fun and explore art together! Each 1st Saturdays program celebrates an artist, current exhibition or theme from the CMA collection and includes an interactive gallery game, hands-on art project and a related arts performance such as music, storytelling, or theatre. 

No registration required.  Free with Museum admission.

Family Sundays

Recommended for families with children ages 6 and older

Family Sundays are lively drop-in events that provide a variety of opportunities for families to enjoy and discover art together!  Each Family Sunday features an artist, current exhibition, or theme and includes gallery activities, art making, and a related arts performance.

No registration required.  Free.

Family Adventures

Share ideas, laugh, and play games during this docent-guided experience. Your family team may embark on a scavenger hunt, imagine yourselves inside a painting, or discover a work of art that tells a family story. Family Adventures are a great way to share quality time and make new memories together. Check the calendar for dates.

Doodles

In this dynamic drop-in program, adults and children 6 and up can experiment with fun materials and create art together.  Families will work together on gallery games and unique, open-ended projects inspired by artwork in the galleries. 

Gallery Fun - For all ages

Explore art in the Museum galleries through hands-on activities. Puzzles, drawing tables, and block-building activities are just some of the fun things to do every day with your family at CMA. Free with Museum admission.

Museum on the Move!

Museum on the Move! is a community outreach program that provides hands-on art activities at local festivals, fairs, libraries, and other cultural events. Look for Museum of the Move to visit an event near you!

Art Around Town - For all ages

Experience the Columbus Museum of Art in your own neighborhood! This exciting drop-in program brings authentic works of art, along with fun, artful activities, to you. Admission is free with no registration requested. Check the Calendar for an Art Around Town near you.

Art Challenges

Sundays 1:00-3:00 pm

Visit the Art Challenges station in the galleries to participate in exciting, competitive games that highlight a CMA artwork or collection. Compete against friends or family members, or challenge the scores posted by other visitors. Prizes are part of the fun, and one winner will earn a CMA gift certificate!
