Columbus' Cooking Battle is Back!
Friday, April 25, 2008 · Lifestyle Communities Pavilion, 405 Neil Avenue
Witness a live competition featuring two renowned chefs and one "secret ingredient!"
In a toque to toque competition with slice by dice commentary and one top secret ingredient, two of Columbus' best chefs will be put to the test on April 25 at Chef Showdown 2008.
Internationally known, Certified Master Chef, Hartmut Handke of Handke's Cuisine and Executive Chef, Jeff Hostenske of M, a Cameron Mitchell Restaurant will prepare dishes from scratch in a fully-equipped kitchen provided by The Wasserstrom Company.
Similar to the Food Network's Iron Chef Competition, Handke and Hostenske will have 60 minutes to cook at their battle stations. At the last minute before the competition begins, the Secret Ingredient Sponsor will spice up the challenge and provide a secret ingredient that must be incorporated into the recipes. Expert commentary will be provided by WBNS-10TV's Dom Tiberi and Columbus native Molly O'Neill, a former food reporter for The New York Times and its "Sunday Magazine." She is a best-selling author of several cookbooks, including "New York Cookbook."
When the smoke clears, a star panel of judges will determine the gastronomic champion.
