ArtEscapes Trips
Escape to Chile
Dr. Wayne Lawson, Museum trustee and director emeritus of the Ohio Arts Council, and Nannette V. Maciejunes, CMA executive director, will lead an Art Escapes trip to Santiago, Chile, March 11-19. Santiago, Chile is one of the most beautiful cities in South America. The cultural capital of the nation, Santiago is tucked into the Andes on one side and the Pacific Ocean on the other. Our trip includes visits to the Contemporary Art Museum; the Museo de las Solidaridad; private art galleries such as Tomas Andreu, Isabel Aninat, and ArtESpacio; and the Pre Columbian Museum. Visits to the homes of private collectors and lectures by art critics will round out this incredible trip. Side excursions to the vineyards just outside of Santiago or a visit to Isla Negra, the home of Chile's poet laureate, are optional. The cost of the trip is $3,600, single supplement $750. Your deposit of $1,800 is your reservation. Final payment is due by January 10. Please call Nancy Turner at 614.629.0301 for details.
Napa Valley Art and Wineries
Join us as we experience the splendor of California's Napa Valley by touring the most prestigious wineries, viewing their notable art collections, and enjoying their fine wines. Our journey begins at the di Rosa Preserve: Art & Nature, a nature and art oasis that boasts the most extensive contemporary collection of California Bay Art in the world. We will visit architect Michael Graves' Clos Pegase winery, which is noted for underground caves and spectacular sculpture garden; Mumm Napa Valley, whose collection includes seldom-seen Ansel Adams photographs; the Hess Collection Winery, which features a powerful collection of multinational art; and Copia: The American Center for Wine, Food & the Arts which houses a museum dedicated to exploring the distinctive American contribution to the character of wine and food. From our Napa Valley Marriott hotel you also will have the opportunity to explore on your own via shuttle, the wine train, hot-air balloon or helicopter. Trip space is limited.
