Columbus Art Experiential Tours
Rediscover your creative talents at the Columbus Museum of Art. Explore the artistic heritage of the city as you learn about world-famous artist and Columbus native George Bellows. Take part in an exclusive behind-the-scenes art viewing experience and develop your drawing skills in the galleries. Or sign up for one of our Art Escapes tours.
Artist for a Day – $25
Become an artist for a day during this exclusive experience. Meet Aunt Fanny, the relative who inspired one of Columbus’ most celebrated artists, George Bellows, to pursue his career. Learn about how George rocketed to fame after turning down a contract with the Cincinnati Reds, then don white gloves as you examine works of art from CMA’s collection in a special viewing room. Next, journey into the galleries and put your creative skills to practice as you draw among paintings and sculptures.
- Approximate length: 2.5 hours
- Availability: Available, by reservation, beginning in January 2011. Minimum 5, Maximum 50.

Art Escapes
Join CMA Art Escapes for an eclectic, behind-the-scenes look at the New York art world, April 26-29, 2012. Tour leaders Nancy Turner and Missy Ricksecker have put together a fantastic weekend that includes a sneak peek of Christie’s Impressionist and Modern art auction and a private showing of internationally acclaimed artist Michal Rovner’s new exhibition at Pace Gallery. We’ll be staying at the Helmsley Park Lane Hotel, a grand luxury hotel on Central Park with panoramic views of the New York skyline just steps from Fifth Avenue shopping.
