How do I purchase a gift membership?

What level should I purchase for my loved one?
I just purchased a gift membership. What happens now?
CMA will issue new member cards and print a letter stating who the gift was from and the benefits of the new membership. These items will either be mailed directly to the recipient or to you depending on what was specified in your original order. You will also receive a tax receipt in the mail for your purchase.
I received a confirmation email after my purchase. Will the gift recipient receive one as well?
No. We do not send confirmation emails to gift recipients. Instead, we send them a letter with their membership card in the mail.
How will the recipient receive their membership?
Member cards and the Member Benefits Chart will be sent by mail to the address specified in your order. We can deliver the membership to you or directly to the recipient.
How will they know who the gift is from?
When you place your order, you have the option to specify who CMA should say the gift is from. If you do not specify this, we will use the purchaser’s name on the order confirmation. You may also include your own personalized message which will be included in the gift letter.
What happens when the gifted membership expires?
When you initially order the membership, you have the option to select whether the renewal is to be sent to you, the recipient, or to both of you.
I need the gifted membership for a certain occasion. Can you guarantee delivery by a given date?
It may take up to two weeks from your order date for membership materials to be delivered. CMA is unable to provide expedited delivery.
Please note memberships become active immediately upon purchase. The recipient may visit before they receive their cards by providing our Welcome Desk staff with their name and a photo ID.
What if I want the gift to be a surprise?
CMA mails membership cards in standard sized envelopes with CMA branding in the corner. If you live in the same home as the recipient, please specify you would like the membership to be delivered to you. If this is specified, you will be the only addressee listed on the envelope.
On occasion, CMA sends member-only informational emails to all active members. If you are concerned about a recipient receiving these emails prior to receiving their gifted membership, please contact the Membership Office at email@example.com or 614.629.0363.
Can I purchase a membership now and give it to someone later?
Yes. However, it is recommended you wait to purchase a gifted membership until closer to the date you intend to gift it. CMA memberships are activated immediately upon purchase. We will not delay the activation of any membership and we do not extend memberships to recover lost time.
Can I include myself on a gifted membership?
Yes. Family Level Memberships and above do allow a second named member. You are welcome to list yourself as the second member on a gifted membership.
