Community Celebration – Floch Collection

September 20, 2018
6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Join CMA and community partners for a fun night out at the Museum featuring art-making inspired by artist Talle Bamazi, tasty local bites, a cash bar, and sounds by DJ Jakak Mapis. At 6:30pm, join a gallery conversation exploring CMA’s new installation Gender, Power, and Creativity: The Josef Floch Memorial Collection.
This installation highlights works of art from colonial and pre-colonial West Africa, celebrating the creativity of artists across cultural and regional boundaries.
Thank you to the community members whose diverse perspectives have informed and continue to shape this installation through design, research, and programming: Talle Bamazi, Grace Djan, Sandra Lopez, Jakak Mapis, Kaycee Nwakudu, Alexandra Ojudon, Djiby Sall, Marshall Shorts, Ibrahima Sow.
This event is free and open to the public. Please register for your free ticket.
