The galleries are open. Your health and safety are top priority. The Museum is dedicated to remaining a safe and welcoming place for our community and visitors. In response to coronavirus (COVID-19) and to support efforts to help reduce the spread of the virus, we have implemented new protocols and guidelines developed in alignment with official health and government recommendations. Your visit to the Museum may look different, but know that these new protocols and guidelines are there to provide a safe and great experience for all of our visitors and staff.  

What to Know Before You Go

  • All visitors, including Members, should reserve a timed admission ticket online or by phone before visiting. Museum capacity will be limited and general admission and special exhibition admission tickets will be reserved according to timed arrivals.
  • Visitors will have a one-hour window to redeem an entrance ticket and may stay as long as they like.
  • A small amount of day-of admission tickets may be available for visitors who arrive without reservations, but cannot be guaranteed.
  • Face coverings = kindness. Please wear face coverings for the protection of all visitors and staff.
  • Museum Store has updated cleaning protocols and social distancing graphics. Click here for Museum Store details.

  • Hand sanitizer and social distancing graphics are located throughout the Museum.

• A limited number of wheelchairs and strollers are available at the CMA Admissions Desk
• Pencil sketching is permitted in the galleries
• Food and beverages are NOT permitted in the galleries
• Columbus Museum of Art wants to ensure that everyone has a great experience with great art. Please refer to our Visitor Code of Conduct.
• No oversized size bags.

All bags are subject to security inspection before entering the Museum. The Museum requires visitors to check all items that are larger than 11 x 15 x 5 inches (28 x 38 x 13 cm). Any item that is larger than 14 x 22 x 9 inches (36 x 56 x 23 cm) will not be allowed in the checkroom, and cannot be brought into the galleries.The Museum reserves the right to refuse other items and is not responsible for items held by the checkroom.

Blue Star Museums Program

Free admission to active duty, retired military, veterans and their families. Simply show your active-duty military personnel or military family I.D. at the admission desk for free entry.
