Current Community Celebration
June 9, 11:00–11:40 AM
Intersection of Gay and High Streets (near 12 W Gay Street)

The skyline of downtown Columbus will be transformed this June with the unveiling of a monumental artwork by internationally recognized sculptor Janet Echelman.

Current is a stunning, ephemeral, sky-high sculpture that will inspire wonder and imagination in all who see it. As it dances gracefully in the wind, this awe-inspiring work of art will become an emblem of Columbus’ culture and innovation.

Drop-in before the start of the Columbus Arts Festival, to hear from community and arts leaders and enjoy a pop-up performance by the Harmony Project. To sweeten the deal, there’ll be free cotton candy from the Cotton Sugar Co. (quantities limited).

The design and installation of Current was funded by Jeff Edwards. He has donated the work to the Columbus Museum of Art. The Museum will oversee the care and maintenance of the sculpture as part of their permanent collection.
