Mozart to Matisse: Alternative Aesthetics—American Folk Art

January 20, 2024
2:00–3:00 PM

Location: CMA

Join the Columbus Museum of Art and Columbus Symphony Orchestra for an afternoon of visual art and music. American Folk Art has a long history and is often influenced by traditions within the artist’s culture and personal life rather than formal academic training. A discussion of key artists such as Grandma Moses, Gertrude Morgan, William Hawkins, and Elijah Pierce whose work is found within CMA’s collection, as well as quilts from the current exhibition Quilting a Future will be followed by music that compliments this fascinating genre.

Tickets are $5 for members, $20 for nonmembers.
