Open Borders: Pueblo Painting and Modernism in the American High Desert, 1920-1937 highlights the ways that folk, tribal, and self-taught artists have dramatically enriched the story of American art. Featuring Pueblo paintings from CMA’s collection and a private lender, Open Borders focuses on the connection between Native artists from the American southwest and contemporary modernist painters.
