Art in Bloom 2014
All aboard the Art in Bloom rails with round trip passenger service from Paris to points East. During our Art in Bloom weekend of East meets West, visitors will mingle with floral designers who have created complex floral arrangements inspired by works of art from the Museum’s permanent collection. For only three days, April 25 through the 27, the Museum will be transformed into an interpretive garden for the biennial Art in Bloom hosted by Beaux Arts.
The journey begins Friday evening with an Opening Reception at the Moulin Rouge in the Derby Court rail car. Saturday afternoon you are invited to attend an informative and inspiring presentation of Russian gardens by artist, lecturer, photographer and author Elizabeth Murray. A Russian-inspired tea with a true flavor of your destination with special experiences to tempt your taste buds follows.The weekend culminates with a Jazz Brunch with Columbus Jazz Orchestra Sunday morning. Throughout your excursion you’ll find pop-up raffles, floral infused Palette Café treats and a market filled with gardening elements for the gardener in us all as well as creative offerings by local artists.
An Evening at the Moulin Rouge

At our first stop witness the cultural exuberance that is 19th century cabaret life, where festivities and artist mix. Tempt your palate with delicacies and kick up your heels at this fashionable destination. Everyone who’s anyone will be dressed in red. Get a sneak peek at the extravagant use of florals interpreting pieces of art from the Museum’s permanent collection. Don’t miss a tour of work by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, one of the most well-known French painters of the Post-Impressionist period. It’s the place to be in late 1800s Paris. $60 per person.
The Gardens of Russia Talk and Tea with Elizabeth Murray

Our midday tea calls for a certain style including hats, gloves and fabulous handbags. Renowned artist Elizabeth Murray takes you on a visual journey of the gardens of Russia at the end of the 19th century. Elizabeth is perhaps best-known for her work helping to restore Monet’s gardens and photographing them for 25 years. Following her inspirational talk we will retire to Derby Court for a Russian-inspired tea complete with cuisine creatively blending the many cultures of the well-traveled. $50 per person.
Art in Bloom Talk with Elizabeth Murray: Living Life in Full Bloom

Elizabeth Murray talks about her latest book Living Life in Full Bloom, which encourages each person to explore four personality attributes (gardener, artist, lover and spirit weaver), that create a framework for practicing mindfulness, unleashing potential, and reviving communities. Tickets for this event are $20 for nonmembers, Special Member price is $10.
Jazz Brunch with the CJO
April 27 Seatings at 11:30 AM and 12:30 PM
The end point of our holiday finds us back in Paris welcomed by a delicious brunch; the flavorful gourmet fare will be served buffet style and created with French influences by Sidecar Global Catering. A cash bar featuring the Art in Bloom signature cocktail and an espresso bar adds to the experience. While dining, you’ll be listening to the incomparable sounds of our own Columbus Jazz Orchestra, musicians who for over 40 years have been mesmerizing audiences. Once your appetite is sated, tour the Museum galleries to get first-hand glimpses of the beautiful floral arrangements inspired by works of art bringing a fresh and surprising perspective to our galleries. $35 per person.
