Celebrate the legacy of artist Aminah Robinson with free admission all weekend, including the Raggin’ On special exhibition!

Throughout the entire weekend enjoy free admission, activities inspired by Raggin’ On, special kids’ meals at Schokko Café and 10% off all Aminah merchandise in the Museum Store.

11AM: Art & Empathy Talks
This new monthly interactive conversation series is in partnership with Empathize With Me, an initiative created by storyteller Donte Woods-Spikes to find ourselves within each other through storytelling and documentation. Each month’s theme will be inspired by the special exhibition Raggin’ On: The Art of Aminah Robinson’s House and Journals. Please RSVP here; admission to Museum and exhibition included.

Theme: Married to Art – The Untold Story of Walt Neil

2 PM: Urban Strings Concert
A collaboration between Columbus composer Dr. Mark Lomax, II, Urban Strings Columbus and select musicians of the New Albany High School Chamber Orchestra and The Columbus Symphony Orchestra features compositions inspired by the exhibition, Raggin’ On: The Art of Aminah Brenda Lynn Robinson’s House and Journals. This live performance is free and open to the public.

Registration is encouraged to guarantee seating; admission to Museum and exhibition included.

 

Sunday, August 15

11 AM – 1 PM: Maker Experience
Kindle your creativity and celebrate the artistic practice of Aminah Brenda Lynn Robinson. Using simple household objects and imagination, creators of all ages will play and think like artists through this special, Aminah-inspired day of play. Drop in, limited space available. Reserve your admission tickets above.
This maker day is part of the WonderPass series, supported by Battelle

Aminah Activity Journal


Aminah Robinson inspired activity journals can be found in the Raggin’ On exhibition and printed from home. The journal encourages participants to imagine and create alongside Robinson’s artistic journey.
